Interesting Read

Sarah Palin and the gaze of the Other

What the left elites in search of a new aristocracy sometimes forget is that America was created out of a desire to do away with the old aristocracy of classist England.

The left — both at home and abroad — while always prattling on about championing the little guy, seldom include the unwritten caveat to such support, specifically, provided the little guy shuts up, learns his place, and doesn’t try to crash any of our parties.

She hunts, OMG!! Send her back to hick-ville!

It's fun to watch all the attempts to marginalize Sarah Palin. I can't remember a VP choice that has sparked this much debate.

Matt Damon droppin' the knowledge.
Damon, showing off his political acumen, claims to want to know if the Palin pick was made “for political purposes.”

– Which, I think I can answer that for you, Matt: Yes. In fact, that’s the way these picks are generally decided — this being, well, politics and all.

Don't forget the marginalization Matt....
“It’s like a really bad Disney movie. The hockey mom… and she’s president and facing down [Russian president] Vladimir Putin,” Damon said. “It’s absurd. It’s totally absurd and I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about it.”

And how is Obama (who is actually running for president, not VP) better qualified to take on the big Russian bear, Matt? Other than being the 'chosen one'?

I'm still waiting for a good answer.

Every day I am more and more impressed with the choice of Palin as McCains VP.

BTW - If you haven't figured it out, I love Protein Wisdom. Especially now that Jeff Goldstein is back as the sole blogger.
